A ring of blue light follows each hero for the whole fight.

It has no cooldown: it is always on while it sits on the hero's active bar, and does nothing anywhere else.

Values by rank

Aura of Protection scales with Defense. Its value at each rank is 364 + 104 × rank:

The value is in basis points (100 = 1%) of the hero's own Defense, before line mastery and synergies.

Defense given = round(hero's Defense × value × skill power ÷ 10,000)
skill power = 1 + 1% per point in the other Protection skills + 2% per rank of each skill that boosts it

How to unlock it

Rank 5 in Shield of Faith Tier 1 of the Protection line.

Hero level 12 at the earliest There is no level requirement, but a hero gets one skill point every 2 levels.

One skill point per rankUp to rank 10.

Rank 5 in Aura of Protection opens Sacrifice.

Mastery and synergies

Line mastery: every point in the other Protection skills makes Aura of Protection 1% stronger, up to +40% with all of them at rank 10. Its own points do the same for the rest of the line.

Consecrated Shield

Each rank in Aura of Protection makes these skills 2% stronger (+20% at rank 10), even when Aura of Protection is not on the active bar.
